If you use Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto®, the Bluetooth connection between your Motion for Audi connect hardware and the vehicle's MMI (Multi Media Interface) system will be disconnected. That is because the use of these services (Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto®) disables your vehicle's MMI Bluetooth capabilities.
This will affect several key Motion for Audi connect features which rely on an active Bluetooth connection to establish a voice call as part of the service:
- Automatic Crash Notification - Remains functional, but without voice call capability. If a crash is detected, Motion for Audi Connect still notifies the Audi emergency center and emergency personnel will be automatically dispatched to your vehicle's location; however, since your Bluetooth connection is disabled, the Audi emergency center will be unable to establish a voice call with your vehicle.
- SOS Emergency Call - Remains functional, but without voice call capability. If you invoke SOS Emergency Call, Motion for Audi connect still notifies the Audi emergency center and emergency personnel will be automatically dispatched to your vehicle's location; however, since your Bluetooth connection is disabled, the Audi emergency center will be unable to establish a voice call with your vehicle.
- Roadside Assistance - Not functional. An active Bluetooth connection is required to establish a voice call between your vehicle and the Audi roadside assistance center.
NOTES:
- As soon as you disconnect Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto®, the Bluetooth connection between your Motion for Audi connect hardware and the vehicle's MMI system will automatically reconnect and will enable voice calls to be made to your vehicle again.
- If you do continue to use Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto®, you should disable Bluetooth notifications for Motion for Audi connect (under Notifications in the main menu of the app) as the app will continue to generate a notification for the issue each time you start a trip.
