Motion for Audi Connect has two emergency service features:
- Automatic Crash Notification:
- Severe Crash: If the Motion for Audi Connect hardware detects your car has been in a severe crash, it will automatically initiate an emergency call to an emergency services representative at Audi. Once the representative connects to your car and establishes contact with an occupant, they will confirm the situation and whether emergency services need to be dispatched to the car's location. If the emergency representative is unable to establish contact with an occupant, for whatever reason (including if the Motion for Audi connect hardware is not connected to the vehicle's Bluetooth), they will dispatch emergency personnel to your vehicle's location.
-
Light Crash: In the event of a light crash, the app will generate an alert asking the app users near the vehicle if they need assistance. If a user doesn't cancel the alert in 2 minutes (or does not have the app installed), then a call to emergency services is automatically initiated.
- Tap Services on the bottom navigation bar
- Tap Emergency Services and follow the instructions from there
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- The Motion for Audi Connect hardware measures the force of impact on the vehicle to determine crash severity and, based on the recorded measure, the likelihood of emergency response being required to the event.
- Automatic Crash Notification requires cellular connectivity, an active Bluetooth connection, and the availability of a GPS signal.
- Automatic Crash Notifications and SOS Emergency Calls are only available on select vehicle models. See the Owner's Manual that came with your vehicle for complete details.
- SOS Emergency Calls and light crash notifications also require the user's location to be enabled in-app permissions in case emergency services need to be dispatched.
- Automatic Crash Notification and SOS Emergency Call services do not dial 911 or contact 911 directly; these services connect with emergency services representatives from Audi who are trained to support emergencies and have the authority and ability to dispatch local emergency services on your behalf.
For an emergency representative to complete a voice call, your Motion for Audi Connect hardware needs to be Bluetooth-connected to your car. When connected, it should show as AUDI SOS - NO 911 [DO NOT DELETE] in the connection manager of your car's Multi Media Interface. If you are not connected, see How do I fix my Bluetooth connection? If a severe crash is detected and the emergency representative is unable to reach an occupant because there is no Bluetooth connection, they will dispatch emergency personnel to your vehicle's location.
